Frequently Asked Questions

  • What features should I look for in an app-controlled door lock for my home?

When choosing an app-controlled door lock for your home, look for features like remote locking, real-time notifications, temporary PIN creation, activity history, fingerprint unlocking, and strong encryption. These features ensure maximum convenience and security through your smartphone.

  • Do app-controlled smart door locks work without WiFi?

Yes — most app-controlled locks operate offline using Bluetooth, but you’ll need WiFi or a WiFi bridge if you want remote access outside your home. WiFi-enabled models are ideal for users who want to check and control their lock from anywhere.

  • Can I unlock my door using a smartphone app from anywhere in the world?

If your smart lock supports WiFi or a WiFi gateway, you can unlock your door remotely through the mobile app no matter where you are. This is perfect for letting guests, family members, or service providers inside when you’re not home.

  • Are app-controlled door locks compatible with both iPhone and Android?

Yes — most modern smart door lock apps support both iOS and Android, ensuring compatibility with nearly all smartphones used in Australia.

  • Can multiple people use the same smart door lock app for access?

Yes — app-controlled door locks allow you to add multiple users, assign roles, set time-based access, and track individual entry logs. Great for families, offices, or Airbnb management.

  • How secure are app-controlled door locks compared to traditional keys?

App-controlled locks are significantly more secure because they use encrypted data transmission, tamper alarms, and multi-factor authentication. There is no risk of losing or copying physical keys.

  • Do app-controlled door locks record full access history for monitoring?

Yes — most models provide detailed access logs showing who unlocked the door, what method they used, and the exact time, giving you complete visibility and control.
